Apprenticeships
India Degree Apprenticeship Pilot
NOCN Group is the knowledge partner for a pilot launched by the Skills Minister for India to roll out the UK’s ‘Trailblazer Model’ for degree apprenticeships in financial services and construction in the region.
The key features of the UK degree apprenticeships model include the creation of employer-led standards required for both classroom and on-the-job components of the apprenticeship, benchmarked against international standards; defined and structured assessment methodologies; and independent End Point Assessment and review.
The first cohort of apprentices have begun the Banking Financial Services Professional degree apprenticeship programme adapted from the UK’s Institute for Apprenticeships & Technical Education (IfATE) approved Apprenticeship Standard. They are studying at Shri Vishwakarma Skill University in Gurugram Haryana State near Delhi – the first university in India set up specifically to do degree apprenticeships– at the end of the programme, successful candidates will be awarded a degree and be fully qualified and competent as a financial services professional.
NOCN’s dedicated team in India is providing consultancy, project management, training and knowledge transfer as part of its support to the Indian Government, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Sector Skills Councils (SSCs), employers, the university and training providers.
